Silence begets violence

Everyone in the world is a puzzle piece to create what is known as mankind. We all need each other and when a piece is missing from a puzzle, the puzzle is incomplete. When tragedy strikes, anywhere, we all sympathize. The massacre in Newtown involved the innocent lives of not only teachers, but also innocent first graders. It is our job to help and comfort those in need. Catholic Social Teaching tells us that we have to help the helpless, and speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. Because of the event, more rules on guns and gun owners have been enforced. Our government has already starting planning ways in which our children and teachers can be safe at school.
